About me
Life feeling difficult but you're not sure why? Discouraged at how hard everything feels? I've been there. I can help you find the confidence to work towards where you decide you want to be in life.
Do you get that anxious knot in your stomach, on Sunday evening, thinking about the week ahead? Yet you can't ever seem to work hard enough or achieve enough to calm that feeling. Does this spill over into your relationships at home or work and you find yourself unaccountably irritated or angry with others, or withdrawing from them? Do you want to make changes but you have no idea what, never mind where, to start? I aim at being the counsellor who can help you find your path.
Or perhaps Life is OK, but only just OK? Couldn't it, shouldn't it be better than this?
Counselling gives you the space to work out what you need from life so that you can make any necessary changes with increased confidence. Counselling gives you the support to develop resilience so that you can surf the waves of life rather than feel you are going under. Counselling helps you work with, not against, yourself, so that you can enjoy your own life now, rather than somebody else's idea of how it should be.
I worked for 30 years in the NHS in a rewarding career, and yet I experienced difficulties. Life was "fine" but at the same time it felt hard, like wading through treacle.
Is this what everyone feels like? I wondered. Is life meant to be this hard?
Going to counselling myself, with the aim of "getting through" better, I found myself heard and understood for the first time and learned to understand myself better. I didn't know that I needed to make changes in my life, but counselling helped me work out that I did, and how to navigate those changes.
And now life is no longer just "fine", I feel like I am living it fully.
If you would like to explore how you can live "fully" rather than living just "fine", contact me to arrange an initial appointment
I work with you in person on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from premises in S 10 and S 11.
