My Experience

Much of my work focuses on supporting women who are hard on themselves, those who set high standards, feel they’re never quite “enough,” and find it difficult to slow down or rest. I can support you with:

Fear of failure and perfectionism
Depression and low mood
Burnout and overwhelm
Grief and loss
Trauma and feelings of abandonment
Relationship challenges
Family and parental issues
Divorce and single parenting
Emotional regulation and understanding your feelings
Self-worth, identity, and confidence
Spiritual exploration or experiences of spiritual abuse

Setting and maintaining healthy boundaries
Recognising and changing unhelpful patterns of behaviour

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

ACC
Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC)

The Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) is a Christian professional membership organisation for those involved in counselling/psychotherapy and linked professions, i.e. pastoral care, coaching and spiritual direction, in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.

Sessions last 50 minutes and can be held weekly or fortnightly, at a regular day and time

I offer

  • Short-term counselling (typically 8-12 sessions)
  • Longer-term therapy, depending on your needs and goals

We’ll regularly review our work together to make sure it continues to support you in the right way.

Before Our First Session

Once you get in touch, we can arrange a free 20-minute phone call, no pressure, no obligation. It’s an opportunity for you to ask any questions and gauge whether you think we’re a good fit to work together.

If you decide to proceed, I’ll send over a few simple forms to gather some basic information before we meet. This just helps me get a sense of what’s going on for you and how I can best support you.

In our first session, we’ll take things at your pace. You can share as much or as little as you feel ready to. We’ll discuss what brought you here, what you’d like to achieve from the sessions, and how we can move forward together. Most importantly, it’s a safe space for you to feel heard and supported.
