Hello and welcome. My name is Payal and I offer a professional face to face counselling and life coaching service in the Harrow area. I also offer skype and telephone sessions for those preferring this option.
I have over ten years of clinical experience of providing one to one counselling in various therapeutic settings. I feel very passionate about my work and have successfully helped many people presenting with a wide range of difficulties over the years. I work as an integrative counsellor, using person-centred, CBT, and psychodynamic theoretical approaches to inform my clinical practice.
I offer a safe and confidential space in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings and make sense of difficulties in your life without feeling or being judged. Whatever it may be that is going on for you, talking with a trained professional can help. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and abide by the BACP Code of Ethics and Practice. I aim to approach all of my clients with cultural sensitivity and recognise that one size does not fit all, thereby adapting my services to meet individual requirements.
Emotions - we all have them, whether we are able to recognise them or not. If you are human, which I shall assume you are, it would be impossible to go through life without having felt something at some point, whatever that may be:

Whatever you may be feeling, there are times in life that talking with a trained qualified professional counsellor can help. According to the mental health charity Mind, one in four people in Britain are affected by or living with a mental health problem. Whilst there has been much stigma around mental health, more and more people are recognising the value of counselling and how it can help.
Counselling or talking therapies can help in managing emotions and overcoming difficult times we may face or have faced in our lives. In fact it was my own personal and positive experience of being in individual therapy that motivated me to train as a therapist over ten years ago. Having always had a desire to help others and experiencing the many benefits of undergoing counselling myself, I wanted to professionally train be able to help others too.

As well as being a qualified counsellor, I am also a qualified life coach and can also help individuals whose needs fall more under the coaching arena. It should be noted that there can be overlap between the two. Counselling and coaching could be considered as being on the same spectrum, albeit at differing ends. I can tailor the way I work in order to suit your specific needs and we can discuss this further upon initial consultation.
I believe that everyone has the potential to heal, change and grow towards becoming the best version of themselves. I successfully completed my postgraduate training in counselling psychology at Roehampton University and have been working therapeutically with individuals for over 10 years. I have experience of working with young people, adults and older adults, providing both long and short term therapy, and this has been through voluntary and paid employment.
I have extensive experience of working with individuals presenting with a range of issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, addiction, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and bereavement. I also have specialist experience of working with women and young girls who have been affected by domestic abuse and or trauma.

My fees are £70 for initial consultation (appointment lasting 60 mins).
Ongoing sessions are £65 per therapeutic hour (appointment lasting 50 mins).
I do have a limited number of concessionary spaces for those unable to pay the full fee. Please let me know if this applies to you upon initial enquiry. I will endeavour to find a way in which we can work together if you decide that this is right for you.
