About me
Hello, I’m Paula, a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Inverness. I offer a warm, confidential and non‑judgemental space for individuals aged 16 and over who may be finding life emotionally challenging, overwhelming, or confusing. Sessions are available in person as well as online and by telephone.
Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big and sometimes uncertain step. My aim is to help you feel reassured that you will be met with kindness, understanding and respect.
Sometimes people come to therapy without a clear explanation of what is wrong, only a sense that something does not feel quite right. Given the right environment, we can gently explore this together and begin to untangle whatever feels confusing or heavy.
I will walk alongside you at a pace that feels comfortable, offering a calm and supportive space to pause, reflect and feel truly listened to. My hope is that our work together helps you feel more connected to yourself, more compassionate towards yourself, and clearer about the way forward.
If you feel ready to reach out, I would be very glad to hear from you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
If you would like to find out if I am the right counsellor for you - the best way to find out is to have a brief, no pressure chat. That is why I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation. It gives us a chance to connect, for you to ask any questions, and to see if my approach feels right for you.
Sessions last 50 minutes, usually on a weekly or fortnightly basis, but we can explore options that suit your needs.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial appointment
