About me

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, or low self-esteem? You may feel stuck, emotionally drained, or as though you’re just getting through each day. Perhaps you find yourself overthinking, second-guessing decisions, or feeling unsure about your direction in life.

Counselling is a space in which you can exercise a gentle curiosity about yourself and work to discover what’s at the root of these difficulties. This process can be both illuminating and deeply reparative, ultimately helping you to feel calmer, more in control, and better able to cope with life’s challenges.

Is counselling for me?

If life feels harder than it should, counselling might be a way of exploring what’s going on for you and acquiring a level of insight that might not be possible elsewhere in your daily life.  It’s a non-judgemental space in which you have the chance to gain a stronger sense of what it means to be you and how you function in the world. I have a strongly held belief that the benefits of counselling can be enjoyed by everyone.

What to expect from sessions

Sessions are very much led by you and my approach honours the fact that clients have an inherent sense of where the work needs to go. It’s my role to sit alongside you on this journey, offering the necessary conditions under which you can feel able to follow your own intuition and direct the work.

Offering a structured approach, with regular reviews, enables the work to maintain focus and enables you to evaluate progress, reflect on changes you have experienced and make decisions about how you want to move forward.

Choosing the right counsellor

Finding the right counsellor is an important step. I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation (online or in person), during which we can discuss your needs, answer any questions, and see whether we feel like a good fit.

You can contact me via Counselling Directory, WhatsApp or phone on +44 7386 474925, or through my website: paulrichardcounselling.co.uk.
