About me
Thanks for considering my profile. I’m Paul, an accredited psychotherapist based in Glasgow city centre. I know that taking the decision to seek therapy can feel overwhelming, if you choose to reach out, you’ll be met with a warm, confidential, accepting space to explore what you need at your own pace. My aim is to develop a supportive, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship that facilitates open conversation that helps me understand who you are. I have extensive professional experience supporting people through a variety of emotional difficulties, however, will always adjust my approach to your unique personal circumstances.
I work from an existential, humanistic perspective while drawing upon approaches tailored to what you bring to therapy, always offering time and space to focus on what matters most to you. I will support you in expressing what it feels like to be you, while honouring your personal experiences and working collaboratively with your hopes and aspirations.
I work integratively, congruently adapting my approach to your issues and goals in a way that is truly collaborative and personalised. Beginning with a humanistic foundation, I offer freedom and scope to explore your unique experiences and perspectives while drawing on my expertise and influences, including psychodynamic theory, existential psychotherapy and mindfulness as appropriate to you.
I'll work with you to look at your current challenges in the context of your life and personal experiences, helping us find solutions that really fit you. I don't use a one size fits all approach- instead, we'll explore creative ways forward together that feel meaningful and true to who you are.
I’m available to see clients in person at my independent practice in Blythswood Hill, which offers a comfortable, private, and welcoming setting. You can also arrange a free telephone or in person consultation, where we can have a relaxed conversation about what’s on your mind, your goals for therapy, and consider together whether I’m the right fit for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have completed an honours degree in psychology in addition to a postgraduate qualification in psychotherapy and counselling.
