MBACP (Accred) PGDip in Counselling & Psychotherapy

About me

I’m an accredited psychotherapist based in Brighton. Alongside my private practice, I work as a therapist at the University of Sussex and The Rock Clinic.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure why certain patterns keep repeating, or want some space to think about your experiences.

I offer a warm, non-judgmental and collaborative approach, to focus on what matters most to you.

By working together we can understand what’s going on beneath the surface and focus on ways to resolve issues and provide clarity so that you can move forward in a manageable way.

Some of what brings people to see me

Many of the people I work with experience anxiety or low mood, often alongside emotions such as anger, sadness, or self-criticism.

I work with people when they notice they are overthinking, people-pleasing, or procrastinating

Some of my clients want to explore family dynamics or the lasting impact of past experiences that still feel present today.

Some clients come with experiences of neurodivergence, including ADHD or autism, and want space to better understand how this shapes how they relate to themselves and others.

How it can help

People experience therapy differently, but clients often describe benefits such as:

Feeling more secure and fulfilled in relationships, with greater confidence in how to navigate them.

A stronger sense of control over emotions and reactions, rather than feeling overwhelmed or emotionally depleted.

A shift in perspective that reduces distress and allows for a kinder, more balanced view of themselves.

How it works

I offer a free 30-minute online conversation for us to meet and for you to tell me a little about what's going on and ask me anything you'd like to know about how I work. You don't need to have everything worked out beforehand.

I see clients face-to-face at two central Brighton locations — Queens Road (BN1, near the station) and in Kemptown (BN2) —

and online across the UK via Zoom, or WhatsApp. I'm happy to combine in-person and online sessions within the same piece of work.

Sessions: 50 minutes, £60

Availability: Weekday daytimes - Mon / Tuesday evenings]

Why it works

Therapy works in part because our brains and nervous systems remain flexible throughout life. The ways we think, feel, and respond are shaped by experience, and they can also change.

In therapy, you have space to notice patterns that may no longer be serving you, understand where they come from, and gradually respond to yourself and others in new ways. Over time, this can ease anxiety or low mood, bring greater clarity, and make emotions feel more manageable.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
