About me

Find a Way Forward

Life can feel overwhelming at times. If you're dealing with stress, anxiety, low mood, bereavement, bullying, trauma, family issues, low self-esteem, or the impact of current or historic abuse—I’m here to help.

Everyone struggles from time to time. You don’t have to face it alone. Together, we can work towards lasting change and a brighter, more balanced way of living.

I offer person-centred counselling and EMDR therapy from my private office in the West End of Aberdeen, as well as online or telephone sessions—so support is available in a way that works for you.

As a BACP-accredited psychotherapist and counsellor and a member of EMDR UK, I’m committed to helping you explore what’s going on, understand your experiences, and find a path that feels right for you. My approach is warm, respectful, and tailored to your unique needs.

What I Offer:

Person-Centred Counselling

A supportive, client-led approach that helps you gain insight, process emotions, and move forward with confidence. There’s no one-size-fits-all in therapy—your journey is yours alone, and we’ll work together to find what works best for you.

EMDR Therapy

(Short for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy designed to help people process and heal from distressing or traumatic memories. It combines elements of talking therapy with bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or tones) to help the brain reprocess difficult experiences and reduce emotional intensity.

Practical Details:

Location: West End of Aberdeen (free on-site parking available)
Availability: Face-to-face, online, or telephone sessions
Consultation: Free 15-minute phone consultation available to help you decide if therapy is right for you

You’ve already taken the first step by considering support. If you're ready to talk, or just want to learn more, please get in touch—I’d be happy to hear from you.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
