About me
I offer a safe and confidential environment where clients can feel truly heard and validated for whatever it is they are going through, without judgement. With my warm and compassionate approach I will work with you to help you tap into your own natural resources, consider new perspectives and find new ways forward.
I have worked with a number of client presentations including anxiety, depression, feelings of isolation and loneliness, stress, loss, low self-worth, relationship issues and perfectionism. I work with individuals with chronic health conditions, sexual violence survivors and those going through significant changes in their lives. Life-stage changes I work with include young adults 18+ finding leaving home for university/college or entering the work place difficult, clients adjusting to their children leaving home, the peri-menopause/menopause and other challenges that come with getting older.
I am happy to work short or long term, online or in person. Sessions are client led and/or collaborative depending on what's helpful. I don't tell clients what to do but I may challenge them or share external information such as websites, articles and tools that they may find useful.
What to expect:
After receiving an enquiry I will phone, text or email you to introduce myself and to learn a little about how I may support you and you can ask me any questions. During this initial chat we can decide if we are a good 'fit.' There is no charge for this and the conversation usually lasts around 15 minutes.
Should we go ahead, I will send you a document outlining the terms for our work together, payment instructions and directions or the Zoom link.
In the first session, I will collect some more information including about your issue and if you have any particular goals for the therapy (its ok if you don't quite know). Thereafter the sessions will be bespoke to your needs with regular opportunities to review how you feel the therapeutic process is going.
Each session lasts for 50 minutes.
I ask for 24 hours cancellation notice.
I am an Integrative Counsellor primarily using the Person-Centred Approach (PCA) drawing from other therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) if appropriate.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
