About us
Looking for affordable therapy with fully qualified psychologists? Outcast Psychology is a values‑led practice offering consultation, therapy, and clinical supervision with HCPC‑registered practitioner psychologists for people aged 16 and over. We use a clear sliding‑scale fee structure to make working with a qualified psychologist more accessible. We work with a range of difficulties (such as anxiety, low mood, work stress, burnout, trauma, and relationship difficulties). But instead of focusing only on your symptoms, we’re interested in all of you.
Our speciality is in difficulties relating to identity, belonging and feeling othered. We look at how your unique history, culture, identities and the systems around you have shaped your life and how these experiences may be contributing now. We recognise how hard it can be to access support in systems that rely on diagnoses or ideas of what is “serious enough”. You don’t need any one specific difficulty to access support with us.
We’re a small team of psychologists from a range of personal and professional backgrounds, drawing from different therapeutic approaches to find a way of working that fits you. If you’d like to talk about what you’ve been experiencing and what kind of support or fee might be realistic for you right now, you’re welcome to get in touch here, via our website, or book a free 20 minute Intro Call.
Training, qualifications & experience
Outcast Psychology is founded by a Counselling Psychologist whose work is shaped by her mixed-race heritage and lived experience of feeling in-between places, identities and cultures.
All services are provided by an HCPC‑registered Practitioner Psychologist. Practitioner Psychologists can include Counselling, Clinical, Health, Educational, and Sport and Exercise Psychologists, all of which are legally protected titles. This means your therapist has completed rigorous, accredited, doctoral-level training and met the standards required to register with the HCPC, the UK regulator for practitioner psychologists. The HCPC sets and monitors strict standards for education, clinical skills, conduct, and ethics to protect the public. They receive regular supervision and engage in ongoing professional development to maintain the highest standard of support.
At Outcast Psychology, whatever fee you pay, you will always work with a qualified, HCPC‑registered Practitioner Psychologist.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Additional information
We use a sliding-scale fee structure of £40, £70, £100 and £130 for all sessions. The same service is offered at each band. The different fees reflect differences in people’s financial circumstances, not whether someone’s difficulties are “serious enough”, or the quality of the therapist.
This works on a system of honesty, trust and transparency. You do not need to provide financial documents or prove your circumstances. We hope that people choose the fee that is truly realistic for them.
As a rough guide:
- £40 - paying more would mean not meeting basic needs, taking on harmful debt, or creating serious financial strain.
- £70 - you can cover essentials, but the higher bands would still create significant pressure or anxiety.
- £100 - you can cover essentials and some non-essentials, and therapy at this rate feels affordable without major sacrifice.
- £130 - you have more stable access to money or financial backup, and paying this rate is manageable without compromising your own stability.
If you are unsure which fee feels right for you, you're welcome to get in touch, and we can think it through together.
