About me

If you find yourself grappling with difficult thought patterns or facing anxiety and depression that impact your daily life, reaching out to a mental health professional can be a significant first step on your healing journey.

What can you expect working with me?

I practice person-centred therapy.  Part of this approach is not only to assist people process their challenges but also to empower them by showing that they have the strength and tools to navigate through them.

I aim to create a safe environment, allowing you (and your nervous system) to feel secure enough to explore past and present feelings and embrace change. I prioritise working at your pace, offering listening, understanding and support.

Confronting certain memories or feelings can feel overwhelming. I choose to approach these moments with care (trauma-informed outlook). Allowing for space and patience is essential to helping you navigate difficult emotions without feeling judged, rushed or forced into change.

How does therapy work?

Due to the therapeutic relationship, a safe space is created where individuals may feel seen, heard, and understood—something that’s often missing when we are dealing with internal struggles or external pressures. That sense of support can help people let down their guard and tap into their own inner resources for healing and change.

When someone feels truly understood, they’re often more willing to explore their own thoughts, emotions, and desires. It can be the first step toward unlocking answers that have always been inside but were maybe clouded by fear, doubt, or a sense of overwhelm.

I welcome individuals dealing with a range of mental health concerns, including relationship issues, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, and more.

I am particularly intrigued by the complex emotional and psychological landscapes that people navigate, especially as they go through life-changing experiences and transitions. E.g. stepping into adulthood (and its responsibilities), midlife change, career change, becoming a parent, grief and relationship breakdowns—these changes can be defined by both a sense of challange and dissatisfaction as well as a curiosity to explore new possibilities. These are periods that offer space for self-reflection: we may meet with longing for change and sometimes feeling uncertain or even stuck. These phases could be seen as "gateways":  although they come with discomfort, there is also the opportunity for renewal and growth. They are moments where we can start redefining what success, happiness, and meaning look like outside of the expectations we have absorbed over the years.

My therapeutic passions (always client-led):

> Inner child work (using a movie/story therapy intervention to process past hurts- rewiring memories)

>Nervous System/Somatic Experiencing (What's the message of the body?)

>Attachment Theory (The history and patterns of our relationships)

>Trauma processing (painful memories and related emotional reactions)

>Relational Depth (Relationships to self and others)

I have experience (Pegasus Men's Wellbeing, Penhaligon Counselling Agency) working with men and women who went through life-changing events and wanted to make sense of their related feelings as well as develop skills to build resilience to face challenges.

I am happy to serve you according to your needs to the best of my skills and knowledge.

If you believe we might be a good fit, please reach out.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
