About me
Hi, my name is Olie. As a counsellor and psychotherapist, I support adults who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or lost due to past events, current experiences, or patterns that feel unhelpful.
Walk and Talk Therapy
I currently offer online sessions and Walk & Talk Therapy. Clients find this beneficial for their individual needs. The combination of nature and movement is calming; it provides new perspectives and stimulation for the senses, so the solutions to problems can be found more easily. We just agree on a location that is suitable for you.
What can I expect from counselling?
I provide a calm, safe space without judgement, so you can feel more at ease to talk freely and explore the things that are troubling you. My work is person-centred, which means the sessions are guided by you at your own pace; it's an approach that promotes self-awareness and independence rather than relying on advice.
I believe that sharing enables an understanding of ourselves and what we’re experiencing on a far deeper level. As part of my approach, I help clients use the counselling relationship to safely process emotions; it's an essential part of healing and provides a release that can significantly reduce things like trauma, anxiety, and depression.
I will support you while we get to the root cause of what's wearing you down, and perhaps preventing the relationship with yourself and others that you would like. As part of your process, we may work towards you feeling more authentic, more trusting of yourself, and of your own capabilities to achieve lasting and meaningful change.
Getting Started...
Reaching out and finding the right counsellor can feel daunting, which is why I offer a free, no obligation, initial consultation over the phone or via Zoom, where we can talk about what you’d like from counselling. You can ask me any questions you like and get a sense of how it might be working together.
Training, qualifications & experience
- CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- Open University Working Online
- Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
To provide the best possible care, I regularly attend additional training courses in different areas of therapy to further support my clients.
I’m particularly experienced with alcohol and drug addiction, and have worked with a number of clients who are in recovery or wanting to achieve sobriety. Addiction can be a very lonely existence; I offer a supportive environment that recognises your experiences and allows you to feel understood. Alongside your struggles with addiction, we can address the underlying causes and work towards self-compassion, freedom, and effective, enduring change.
