About me

I am an empathic and compassionate counsellor and committed to working with you in realising the changes and goals you want to make in your life. I provide a warm, welcoming space to speak freely and openly without judgement.

I am fully qualified and MBACP registered in Psychodynamic Counselling. I work online and in my established practice in Welwyn Garden City area. I work with adults, couples and young people (over 16). I offer a professional service and a confidential caring space to talk about the difficulties that you may be going through.

Whilst my academic training is psychodynamic, I work in a contemporary way and include philosophical methods, adding to greater insight and understanding of how you view yourself and the world.

About therapy

Which Therapy is right for me? Therapeutic approaches vary, so how do you know which one is best suited to you?
My approach focuses on the client counsellor relational aspect and finding a way to resolve your difficulties that are mainly unconscious. Understanding how past experiences influence and shape us in the here and now can help you understand how you have been affected and influenced by past or current events in your life.

Listening to your story and finding a process together that works for you, means the session is tailored to meet your needs.

Therapy can help in many areas such as, facing change or transition and processing loss or trauma. Whatever the reason that you have decided to seek out counselling, I provide the space to learn about yourself and express difficulties.

It may be that you lack confidence, or a voice or even the words, understanding this together can make the difference. Facing difficulties with increased understanding and acceptance can often help find new ways to manage emotions and circumstances more effectively and in a more balanced way.

If you would like to have an informal chat about therapy or have any questions before booking an appointment, please do not hesitate to contact me by email or telephone me.

Hours: 10am- 7pm Monday- Thursday.

As a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), I am governed by their professional Code of Practice and Ethics.

I currently work in my established private practice in Welwyn Garden City and also offer online counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
