About me
Hello, I'm Nikki and thank you for considering working with me. I am a senior psychotherapist (BABCP accredited) with 14 years of experience working in private practice and in the NHS, including as the clinical lead for an NHS psychology service. I use a range of therapies including CBT, EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), DBT and IFS. The therapies I offer have a strong evidence-base for supporting people experiencing stress, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, depression, OCD or trauma (PTSD). I am also trained in psychoanalytic theory, allowing for a deeper, more reflective therapy where helpful.
I understand that starting therapy can feel really daunting and it's my role to support you to feel at ease and answer any questions you might have. The people I work with describe me as warm and down to earth. I'd be very happy to offer a free 15 minute consultation, so that we can meet and go through things in a little more detail.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have worked in the NHS for 14 years and have held a range of senior roles. In addition to my work with adults, I have experience of working in CAMHS and adapting therapy for children, teenagers and families.
I initially completed three years of postgraduate therapy training and I am dually accredited with the BABCP and HCPC. I have continued to access training across a range of therapeutic modalities throughout my career.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
