About me

I can offer a non-judgemental listening ear to over-18-year-olds from all walks of life and backgrounds. I have a passion for diversity and realise we are living in complex times that can bring about all types of anxiety and unprocessed trauma.

I hear you, I see you, and I want to support you. I can help you become the lead character in your own life and embrace your authentic self. No need to hide, no need to adapt to other people's ideas of who you should be. I want to guide you to become you and enjoy the freedom it brings.

Training, qualifications & experience

I've spent over 25 years supporting people in the workplace with their mental health and wellbeing on a one-to-one basis. I have also trained in Mental Health First Aid programmes and courses in all aspects of wellbeing, inclusion, and identity. I have a thorough understanding of neurodivergence and gender identity and issues around body image and all aspects of trauma.

  • Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Therapeutic Studies
  • Level 4 EKRCC in Rape and Sexual Abuse
  • STAK Training in Neurodivergence

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Coming to counselling for the first time can feel daunting, I understand that completely.

You might wonder, “What will I say? Will I be judged? Will this help me?”. These are very common thoughts.

It’s natural to feel nervous about opening up to someone you’ve never met. But in our sessions, there’s no pressure to have all the answers or know exactly where to start. The most important thing is showing up and being open to the therapeutic process.
I offer clients empathy, kindness, honesty, and unconditional positive regard within a safe and confidential space.

I can help you to understand yourself better and unravel things that are causing you distress.

I can offer support with many issues as mentioned, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Identity Issues
  • Body Image
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Neurodivergence
  • Gender Identity
  • Retirement/Unemployment/Career Change/Work Disputes
  • Loss
  • Relationship Problems
  • Family Breakdown
  • Long-term/life changing illness
