About me

Hello, I’m Nicole. Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming and be a huge step to consider. It takes a lot of courage to begin to look into support for yourself, so please, take your time, and know this is a huge achievement.

It might be that you’re looking for a place to vent about life. Maybe you’d like to begin to process events from your past or start to sit with your emotions. It might be that you don’t know what you’re looking for from counselling, but know you want some space and time for you. All of that, and more, is okay. Counselling can be a place for a myriad of different goals and wishes. Together we’ll work at your pace, exploring whatever you’d like to bring or is on your mind. We can explore unpleasant emotions, look at difficult situations and relationships both present and past, practice setting boundaries, celebrate your achievements, find coping strategies and build on your strengths, and more.

I offer a safe space for you to come with no pressure, and no judgement – a place for you to come and just be. I will sit alongside you, letting you freely and openly talk about things that may be difficult to talk about anywhere else, and offer empathy and warmth as we go through this journey together. My goal is to offer a place for you to be truly seen and heard. You, as the client, are at the heart of our therapeutic relationship as client and counsellor, and it’s my privilege to be alongside you.

I am a fully qualified integrative Humanistic counsellor – trained in Person-Centred Theory, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis (TA), and may bring these into our sessions if it feels relevant to our work along with other pieces of psychoeducation. I offer both long-term and short-term therapy primarily for young people (18-25’s) or full-time students who are older than 25. I also have a limited number of slots for those over 25. I offer face-to-face sessions in Oxford or online.

I have 5+ years of experience working within a mental health charity offering a range of support to a variety of people with differing needs. I have also worked as a counsellor within a cancer charity and within a local college for young people. I have an enhanced DBS.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

As someone with rosacea who has dealt with flare ups, I understand how hard issues relating to skin can be. I have a special interest in offering support to those whose mental health has been affected by skin-related health conditions, such as rosacea, acne, eczema, skin picking and more.

Additional information

I offer a locally discounted rate of £48 for 18 – 25-year-olds or those in full time education.
I have a limited number of slots for over 25’s at £55

I offer a free 15-minute phone call to give you the chance to touch on what you’d like from counselling, and to answer any questions you might have for me.
