About me

Hi and welcome!

I really appreciate how daunting it can be to start therapy, it is a big step. Often we want change, but change can feel daunting or scary! So well done for getting to this point!

With 10 years experience as a therapist, many clients say that therapy, while it’s not always easy is one of the most valuable experiences they have ever had.

There are many reasons why people come to see me, but I primarily specialise in anxiety and related issues such as perfectionism, people-pleasing, OCD and panic attacks. Other areas are low-confidence, self-worth and  relationship issues.

You might be feeling anxious a lot of the time and feel overwhelmed with worrying thoughts?

You might constantly criticise yourself and never feel good enough?

Maybe you feel exhausted as you keep putting others need before you own?

You might not really know what’s the problem, but just know that something isn’t right?

As an accredited psychotherapist with 10+ years experience, I help you to break the patterns that keep you feeling this way, gaining a deeper understanding of why you feel like this and help you gain more fulfilment, self acceptance and calmness in your life.

It’s my favourite thing in the world to empower people to fully embrace their whole selves to live more authentically and compassionately. I will listen to your story, ask you questions to help explore and understand yourself and guide you to the answers within.

The way that I work is to integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches to best suit your needs, including Internal Family Systems, Person-Centred, Cognitive-Behavioural-Therapy and Mindfulness based therapies. I am also an accredited Emotional Freedom Technique practitioner. I appreciate that every one is different, so I tailor my approach to you and adapt to your needs.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I understand that committing to therapy takes courage and is a big step. I offer an optional free 20 minute phone consultation so you can ask me any questions that you have, fidn out more about me and explore you would like to go forward.

The next step is to book a consultation session, where we explore in more detail what brings you to therapy, what you would like to gain from therapy and how we might work together. It's a chance to see if you feel comfortable talking to me and for me to check that I am a suitable professional to be supporting you at this time. After the session there is no obligation to continue if you do not want to. The session is 60 minutes long and £85.

Usual sessions are £70 per 50 minute session.

75 minute sessions are available at £98.

I am currently working in person and online via Zoom.
