About me

In searching for a counsellor, you have already taken the courageous step towards change, understanding and ultimately, finding healing and hope.

I often hear clients say they don’t know where to begin and that’s ok. Thoughts and feelings can either flood in all at once or feel completely frozen. I will listen patiently, through both words and silence. It’s ok to feel unsure and it can feel easier to work through those moments when you’re not alone.

The process can feel daunting and uncertain; I understand the fear around opening a potential 'Pandora's box'.  I will offer you a genuine, empathic and heartfelt space from which to explore your thoughts and feelings, staying alongside you throughout, without judgement and at a pace that feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My person-centred approach means that you are at the centre of the journey we'll take together. Only you truly know the thoughts and feelings connected to your life experiences.  My role is to walk alongside you, reflecting what I hear, supporting deeper insight, and helping you find your own way forward towards a place of healing and hope.

I recognise that what clients first bring to counselling may only be the surface of something much deeper. With this in mind, I chose a broad, non-specialised training path and have continued this approach throughout my career. This allows me to meet each person as they are and support them through a wide range of life’s challenges, including neurodivergence, difficult family situations (such as domestic violence and coercion), addiction, anxiety, OCD, and sexual violence.

At the heart of our work together is a trusting relationship, where I will help you to feel heard, supported, and safe to explore whatever feels important to you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
