About me

Sometimes, the hardest part of healing is feeling like you’re doing it alone or that no one truly 'gets it.'

I'm Nikki, a qualified therapist who believes in down-to-earth, inclusive therapy that meets people exactly where they are with realistic expectations and grounded in person centred ethics.

I bring my own lived experience into my work, which means I don’t just look at symptoms I look at the person. My passion lies in supporting individuals through trauma, helping you navigate the complexities of your past without judgment. I use a flexible, multi-model approach because I know there is no 'one-size-fits-all' solution to healing. Everyone deserves a safe space to be heard, and I’m here to provide that for you.

Healing from trauma requires more than just a listening ear; it requires a therapist who deeply understands the complex dynamics of power, control, and recovery. I am an Integrative Therapist with extensive experience and specialist knowledge in the field of domestic abuse, working with both those who have been harmed and those who have caused harm.

Training, qualifications & experience

Because no two experiences of trauma are the same, I use an Integrative approach. This means I draw from different therapeutic modalities to tailor our sessions to your specific needs. Whether we are stabilising your current wellbeing or processing deep-rooted trauma, my practice is informed by a robust understanding of the psychological impact of abuse.

I have extensive training in domestic abuse, behaviour change work and trauma, along with my therapeutic skills.

Person Centred Therapy,CBT, EMDR, Emotionally focused therapy, Gestalt, Humanistic, Integrative, Interpersonal,  Psychodynamic, Solution focused brief therapy, Transactional analysis, couples therapy, self harm and suicide, IEMT.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I believe that therapy should be a collaborative partnership. My approach is rooted in empathy, compassion, and deep understanding, ensuring you feel safe to explore your thoughts without fear of judgment.

You Set the Pace: Sessions are entirely dependent upon you how you want them, when you want them, and what you feel ready to discuss.

Setting Goals & Changing Direction: We will work together to establish what you hope to achieve.

Psychodynamic Education: A key part of my work involves incorporating psycho-education. By understanding the "why" behind your reactions how your past experiences and subconscious patterns influence your present we can establish the profound internal change needed for long-term recovery.

Reviews:

Therapy with Nikki was a very supportive, caring journey. I entered the first therapy session in turmoil and today had my final session feeling happy, grounded, confident and in control of my life. Thank you Nikki, I can never repay you for the excellent work that you provided in my care, I will always be grateful (A)

Nikki is amazing she will sit and listen to me, then interact with me on ways to help and even gives me homework rather than just sit and listen..I feel so comfortable with Nikki she has got me through some very dark places and I can't thank her enough.
