About me
Hello & welcome. I am a psycho-therapeutic counsellor specialising in anxiety reduction & damaging beliefs created in childhood. Together we can work to strengthen your resources to cope better now, while also working with the root cause. This can mean working with emotions in the body.
My modality is Transactional Analysis. I also work a lot with relationship and trust issues, low self esteem and overwhelm. I have a background facilitating the 8 Week Mindfulness Course for Stress, elements of this lend itself to working with anxiety.
Our unresolved 'stuff' governs how we see ourselves and others. It also directs how we think, feel and behave. Finding and working on yours can be impactful in helping you lead a happier, healthier life. If you have; or may one day have, children, therapy can reduce what can get passed down to them out of awareness. This is what makes me so passionate about what I do.
If you have had short-term NHS or EAP counselling and have found there are deeper issues you would like to explore, or if you are brand new to therapy, please get in touch for an informal chat so we can see if we are a good fit.
I work relationally and psychotherapeutically with you as a whole person, rather than just with your symptoms. My modality is Transactional Analysis and where appropriate I work the somatic experience in terms of body sensations.
LGBTQ+ community, you are very welcome here.
How I See You...
Face-to-face sessions are held in Northgate, Crawley and I also work online.
Specialities...
I work with the homicide department offering counselling to bereaved family members and work many presentations however my speciality is anxiety reduction.
With deeper issues... Many people who turn to substances or distraction find that they are avoiding feelings of grief coming from lacking connections or unmet needs from childhood. This hidden, early grief can be very painful to process yet can be beneficial in changing life long patterns of behaviours from the inside out.
I work with your thought patterns, feelings & beliefs you didn't know you had that sit behind them. Where appropriate I will also challenge you, work creatively, & with early pre-verbal feelings in the body.
How Long will it take?
If you need help to cope better with a temporary blip this may be short term work. If we are working with repeating patterns or issues rooted in childhood this can take longer. I generally say lets do six sessions then have a look at where we are, we can make a new plan together from there.
Starting Your Journey...
I offer a 15 minute call or zoom so we can have an initial chat, just to put your mind at ease and answer any questions you may have and from there we can get you booked in for your first session.
Who I Do Not See...
Please note that if you are seeking counselling for issues around adoption the law has changed and only counsellors with specific training in adoption can take you on as a client.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I work with people who are experiencing extreme emotional pain who cannot put into words what is causing their distress. Creatives and body work works well so if you are unsure of what is wrong or what to say, we can work together with this.
