About me

If you're here, you're probably finding life tough at the moment. Perhaps Covid and its ramifications have really got you down? or maybe you're anxiety levels are going through the roof? You may be wondering what's happening in your relationships? Perhaps you've suffered a bereavement? or maybe something disturbing has happened that you just need to talk through. You don't have to be ill to seek therapy but it can help you find the path you want to be on in your life. If you come to see me, together we will find ways to alleviate your distress, understand what's going on and how, with awareness, things can change.

My name is Nicola Bradshaw. I am a warm and enthusiastic humanistic counsellor with a creative and playful approach. I am incredibly passionate about my work and I will give you a safe and confidential space to unburden your worries, and be super attentive and attuned to your feelings, thoughts and concerns. Whether it is any of the above, or something completely different, together we can start to unravel whatever troubles you.

I can offer sessions online by Zoom or telephone, or as we walk and talk in the outdoors (Walk and Talk therapy). I can also offer sessions at an office within my private practice situated in the village of Y Felinheli, Gwynedd, North Wales.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I completed a BA HONS in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Salford in 2019.

My specialities include working with Depression and Anxiety as a result of Bereavement and Loss- in its many forms. I have extensive experience in working with a wide variety of clients and presenting issues.

I work in an integrative way that is tailored to the needs of the person and my approach is facilitative rather than directive. I draw on aspects of Person Centred theory, Existential, Gestalt, CBT, and Humanistic Therapies. I offer to make you feel truly listened to without judgement and support you with care. Contact me to see how we may work through your issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
