About me

I am a professionally qualified integrated counsellor and a member of the BACP, working with adults and teenagers from 12 up.

I work from my garden therapy room offering face to face consultations or if you'd prefer to work online I am happy to use Zoom, Skype or WhatsApp, depending on your preference.

Sessions are usually once a week for 50 minutes at a regular slot. However there is flexibility in this and some clients may wish to see me every couple of weeks or even monthly once our relationship has been developed.

I offer short term and open ended longer term therapy. This is dependent on each individual client and their requirements. Some clients may only need a few weeks, others will need longer to work through difficult issues.

I know that reaching out for help and entering counselling can be daunting. I offer you a calm and warm environment. I offer you that safe place, where you can explore your feelings and emotions and begin to gain control of your life. I respect my clients and their individual stories and circumstances I will listen without judgement.

I always work in a Person Centred way putting you at the centre of the therapy and going at your pace.  I may also use CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) TA (Transactional Analysis) or mindfulness within our sessions depending upon the issues presented and each individual client needs.

We will review and discuss your progress regularly to ensure we are moving forward.

I am comfortable in and rewarded by my counselling work. Helping others gives me great satisfaction. I am compassionate, empathetic and even when the work is difficult and challenging I feel lucky to be doing something that I enjoy everyday!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
