About me
Hi, I’m Nicki and I’m a BACP registered Counsellor and Supervisor, based in Elstree, Hertfordshire. I am trained to Level 4 as an Integrative Counsellor and to Level 5 as a Trauma Informed Practitioner.
I haven’t always been a Counsellor, though it was always in the back of my mind as a potential goal. Having started in youth work and then moving into the political world, I decided in my 30’s that this was what I was supposed to be doing. I have always been good at seeing beyond what people tell me and have great instincts when it comes to people and their needs.
Life is full of ups and downs and everyone needs and deserves a little help at times. It is likely that if you are reading this, you are ready to take that step to make changes that will make things better.
I truly believe that therapy can change your life. I have seen people go from shadows of themselves to much more confident and happy people through therapy and whilst it is not a magic wand, simply having a non-judgmental, confidential, safe space to share and be heard can be utterly transformative.
To me, our therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of the entire process. I pride myself on being warm and empathic, being able to truly listen and hear you and gently work with you to ensure that your therapy journey is meaningful and helpful.
If you would like a free initial chat with me about how I can help, please be in touch.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I am an Integrative Counsellor. This means I use a range of modalities to support you, including Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I see each of my clients as an individual and I tailor the therapy accordingly. I am led entirely by you; the space is yours to do with what you wish and how we work depends entirely on what you need. I will never put you under any pressure to share and will work hard to build your trust as I know how essential this is.
I will listen, I will explore and I will challenge, but all of this will be done sensitively with your wellbeing at the heart of everything I do. My main work in recent years has been with adolescents, but I am equally happy working with adults.
