About me

If you’re feeling anxious, low, or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to shift, you’re not alone. Many of my clients come to me feeling like they’ve tried to cope on their own for a long time, but nothing is really changing, leaving them feeling frustrated, exhausted or stuck in the same cycles.

I work with people who are experiencing:

 - anxiety or constant overthinking
 - low mood or depression
 - a loss of direction or sense of purpose
 - difficulties in relationships
 - feeling stuck or unable to move forward
 - the lasting impact of past or childhood experiences

Often, these struggles are connected to deeper patterns or earlier experiences that haven’t yet been fully processed. Therapy can help you begin to understand and change this.

I’m a qualified and registered psychotherapist and counsellor with over 25 years of experience working in children and family social care. This has given me a deep understanding of how early experiences and relationships can shape how we see ourselves, relate to others and cope day to day.

I am trained in Psychosynthesis, an approach that looks at both your current challenges and your deeper potential for growth. Our work together won’t just stay at the surface. We’ll explore what’s underneath your thoughts, feelings, and patterns so you can:

 - feel less overwhelmed
 - understand yourself more clearly
 - respond differently to difficult emotions
 - build a stronger sense of who you are

Alongside talking therapy, I may bring in approaches such as mindfulness, body awareness, and creative techniques where helpful — always at a pace that feels right for you.

I am also currently training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), a highly effective approach for trauma and anxiety. I may draw on elements of this training within our work where appropriate.

If you feel I might be the right therapist for you, I offer a free 30-minute consultation so you can ask questions and get a sense of how I work.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
