About me

Hello, it can be daunting trying to find someone to work with when life becomes tricky, and this list of faces and qualifications might not be the easiest way to choose.

I offer a respectful, compassionate and confidential space to support people with both short-term challenges and longer-term personal change. I am trained to help you understand anxieties and problems in your life in a way that makes sense to you. You may be experiencing difficulties related to events happening in your life at the moment, or deep-seated problems that have been with you for a long time.

I believe that exploring difficulties and gaining a better understanding of ourselves can help us in changing problematic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving, and help us to live more peaceful and fulfilling lives. Exploring our experiences and responses can allow us to regain a sense of freedom and spontaneity and help us to manage relationships and live the life we want.

I offer a range of options if you'd like to work face-to-face in my comfortable offices, online or on the telephone.

I am a fully trained and registered counsellor and psychotherapist in Integrative Psychotherapy and Transactional Analysis, and I use these methodologies to help you understand yourself and your relationships with others.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy
  • Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling
  • UKATA Diploma in Transactional Analysis Practice
  • DBS Checked (Enhanced)
  • I also provide counselling services for the NHS.

I have completed further training in:

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Online & Telephone Counselling

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

UKATA
UK Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA)

UKATA (formally the Institute of Transactional Analysis) is the national UK Transactional Analysis organisation representing all fields of TA theory and practice. TA can be used as an effective tool in a wide range of contexts such as: personal development, management, coaching, counselling, psychotherapy, teaching, education, parenting and more.
