About me

Hello, and welcome. If you're reading this, you may have reached a point where you're looking for some support. Taking that first step can feel daunting, particularly if you're unsure what counselling will be like or even where to begin. Perhaps you have a specific difficulty you'd like help with, or perhaps you simply have a feeling that things aren't quite right. You may be feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed or stuck, or finding it difficult to understand why you're feeling the way you do. Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to work it all out on your own.

I'm an integrative counsellor with experience working with adults, young people and children. I believe that every person is unique, so I adapt the way I work to you rather than expecting you to fit a particular approach. I aim to create a relationship where you feel safe, heard, respected and free from judgment. Counselling can give you the opportunity to slow things down, make sense of what you're experiencing and develop a deeper understanding of yourself. We'll work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I also offer walk & talk counselling, providing the opportunity to take our sessions outdoors and talk while walking in nature. For some people, being outside and moving gently can make it feel easier to talk, breathe, and process thoughts and feelings. It can offer a different kind of therapeutic space, away from the traditional counselling room, and we can explore whether this approach feels right for you.

You don't need to know exactly what you want to say or have everything figured out before you get in touch. Sometimes simply saying "I'm struggling and I think I need some help" is enough.

If you'd like to explore whether counselling with me might feel right for you, I'd be very happy to hear from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
