About me

I’m Naomi Brown, a qualified integrative counsellor offering a holistic, client-centred approach to therapy. With a background in mental health, education, and social care, I provide individual therapy in a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges.

I specialise in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, pregnancy-related mental health issues (including pregnancy sickness and hyperemesis gravidarum), and major life transitions.

Using an integrative approach, I tailor each session to your unique needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Person-Centred Therapy. This flexible framework allows us to explore your experiences, build resilience, and work towards meaningful, lasting change.

I also have experience in advocacy and mentoring, helping people navigate challenges in education, career, and personal development.

Therapy with me is a collaborative process - we’ll work at your pace to make sense of your experiences and support your journey towards greater wellbeing and self-understanding.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an MSc in Counselling (Merit) from the University of Northampton and a First-Class BSc in Sociology from the University of Huddersfield. I'm a registered member of the BACP and practise integratively, drawing from CBT, Psychodynamic, and Person-Centred approaches.

My experience includes providing therapy through The Psychotherapy Room and Pregnancy Sickness Support, working with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and perinatal mental health, including hyperemesis gravidarum. I've also held roles in advocacy and mentoring, supporting individuals across education, social care, and mental health settings.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and work in line with the BACP’s ethical standards to provide safe, compassionate, and effective support.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
