About me

Warm, empathic, experienced and good-humoured, I firmly believe that our past affects our present and I will help you to join the dots to make sense of your issues and your self.

I am a fully qualified counsellor with comprehensive experience in diverse settings, including educational institutions, healthcare environments, and mental health services. I hold a deep commitment to client-centred therapy, empowering individuals to make informed decisions and supporting them on their personal journeys to mental well-being. My practice is aligned with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) code of ethics and standards, ensuring that I consistently uphold professionalism and integrity in all client interactions.

My qualifications reflect a strong foundation in multiple therapeutic approaches, with specialised training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Integrative Counselling, Person-Centred Counselling, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and the Gestalt Approach. My theoretical knowledge is paired with practical application in real-world contexts, allowing me to provide tailored interventions that meet the unique needs of each client.

I am particularly passionate about supporting clients from all backgrounds and addressing sensitive issues such as neurodiversity, trauma, anxiety, bereavement, relationship difficulties, and sexuality-related challenges, including LGBTQ+ and HIV-related concerns. My experience with Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities and other cultural issues has provided me with valuable insight into how cultural, ethnic, and societal factors impact mental health, enabling me to deliver culturally sensitive and inclusive counselling.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor with extensive experience supporting diverse clients in various settings, including educational institutions and healthcare environments. I hold a deep understanding of the BACP's professional conduct and ethical framework, ensuring that my counselling approach is always client-centred and adheres to the highest ethical standards.

My qualifications include comprehensive knowledge of key counselling approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Integrative Therapy, Person-Centred Counselling, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I have practical experience in supporting individuals facing a range of challenges, including neurodiversity, trauma, anxiety, bereavement, HIV-related issues, and relationship problems.

Currently, I provide tailored counselling at Terrence Higgins Trust, addressing the emotional, psychological, and social challenges of clients affected by HIV and STIs, particularly those from LGBTQ+ and BAME communities. I also work at Oxford Brookes University, supporting students with mental health concerns through individual sessions and SFBT, and conducting clinical risk assessments.

My experience spans various client issues, including cultural sensitivity, social media-related stress, cancer, depression, loneliness, and more. My approach is integrative, adaptable to the needs of each client, and focused on empowering them to make informed decisions in their healing journey.
