About me

I am an HCPC-registered Art Psychotherapist and member of BAAT, with an MSc in Art Psychotherapy from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. Over nine years I have worked across the NHS, schools, higher education and with foster children, supporting people through trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and attachment disorders.

My approach is warm, integrative and holistic, drawing on humanistic, psychodynamic, relational, neurobiological and embodied ways of working. Art-making sits alongside talking as a route to feelings that can be hard to put into words; no previous art experience is needed, and the focus is never on producing "good" art, but on reflection, discovery and healing within a safe, non-judgemental space.

I offer individual Art Psychotherapy to adults and young people, in Surrey or online, in English or Russian. In October 2026 I am also running HELD, a three-week group for mothers who feel overwhelmed, isolated or unlike themselves since becoming a parent.

How counselling with me can help

Having a dedicated space to explore difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences — away from the roles and demands of everyday life — can bring relief, clarity and a stronger sense of self. A trusting therapeutic relationship is one of the most consistent factors linked to positive outcomes in psychotherapy. Working with art alongside talking offers an additional way in: it can help you access and process feelings, memories or experiences that are difficult to put into words, particularly after trauma, and can support you in managing anxiety and low mood. Over time, this way of working can help you build self-understanding, strengthen your relationships, and develop resources to draw on when life feels difficult.

What to expect in your first session

Before booking your first session, I offer a free 20-minute consultation, so we can say a little about ourselves and you can ask any questions before deciding whether to go ahead. Your first session is then a chance for us to meet properly, for you to share what has brought you to therapy, and for us to get a sense of whether we can work well together — there's no obligation to continue afterwards. I'll ask about your history and what you're hoping to get from therapy, and explain how I work, including confidentiality and its limits. You're welcome to talk, make art, or do both — whatever feels right for you; no previous art experience or artistic skill is needed. From there, we'll agree together on how we'll work and how often we'll meet.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience of hundreds of clinical hours working with adults and children both face to face and online. I have seen clients in private, charity and NHS hospital settings. I work with trauma in its various forms, anxiety, depression, PTSD, anger management, shame, isolation, self-harm, relationships and many other mental health or life issues.

I am supervised regularly and attend CPD events to enhance my professional knowledge. I am fully insured and have a DBS certificate.
