About us

My name is Martin and I offer counselling and psychotherapy for adults and young people aged 14+, providing a supportive space to explore life's challenges, deepen self-understanding, and create meaningful change.

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, loss, trauma, or a sense of being disconnected from themselves. Together, we explore not only the difficulties you are experiencing now, but also the deeper patterns, relationships, and life experiences that may have shaped them.

My approach is trauma-informed and relational, drawing on attachment theory, family systems, mindfulness, and psychodynamic understanding. Therapy is not simply about managing symptoms; it is an opportunity to develop greater awareness, heal old wounds, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and move towards a life that feels more authentic and purposeful.

I believe that lasting change emerges through compassionate self-exploration rather than self-judgement. Whether you are navigating a major life transition, recovering from trauma, struggling in relationships, or seeking a deeper sense of meaning and direction, therapy can provide a space for reflection, healing, and growth.

I offer a free one-hour consultation so that we can explore what brings you to therapy and whether working together feels like the right fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked in private practice since 2014 and have over 24 years' experience supporting young people and adults. Alongside private practice, I have worked within education and specialist trauma services, including supporting survivors of rape and sexual abuse.

My work is informed by contemporary understanding of trauma, attachment, family systems, psychodynamic theory, mindfulness, and human development. I have a particular interest in how early relationships shape our sense of self, our patterns in adult relationships, and our capacity to live with purpose and fulfilment.

I also hold an Accredited Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Helping Relationships, offering supervision to counsellors and helping professionals.
