About me

I'm a counselling psychologist with over fifteen years’ clinical experience providing psychological therapies.   I offer both short-term (6-12 sessions) and open-ended therapy. I am currently offering sessions online.

Psychotherapy sessions provide a regular confidential space to talk about worries, concerns and difficulties with someone who is trained to listen attentively and help you understand your thoughts and feelings. Research shows that psychotherapy and counselling can help us through difficult times and find a way forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m a Chartered Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society and a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council. I abide by the British Psychological Society code of ethics.

I also provide clinical supervision for therapists and am on the British Psychological Society Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS).

I trained at Regents University in existential-phenomenological, humanistic and psychodynamic approaches.  I draw on a range of therapeutic models to provide the most effective approach.

I have worked in the NHS, local authority and private practice and I have clinical experience with a wide range of issues and concerns.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
