About me

Is anxiety, low mood, anger, lack of confidence and low self esteem affecting the quality and enjoyment of your life? Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed and not able to cope with these thoughts and feelings, perhaps not understanding where they have come from?  This is where counselling can help.

I can give you a safe and confidential space to talk about your past, future and present experiences. This counselling relationship involves unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruency, enabling you to become your own best helper.

I am an integrative counsellor, trained to utilise different therapeutic approaches that fit in with what a person needs, what works for them as an individual.  My core practice is in person centred therapy which puts the client at the centre of the counselling process.  This means that you are the best person to understand and help yourself.

Issues that I deal with include anxiety,  depression,  self harm, suicidal ideation,  GAD, relationships, school refusal, eating disorders, gender identity and trauma.

In my work I utilise CBT techniques, Mindfulness, creative and sandtray work, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and also Solution Focused Brief Therapy.  This is all delivered with a Compassion Focused Therapy approach.

We can work together face to face, by Zoom or by telephone.  Sessions can be short or long term and we will regularly review how the counselling is progressing for you.  Our sessions will be held weekly at an agreed time and day.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
