MBACP Reg. Psychotherapist and Counsellor

About me

Hi, my name is Mihaela, and I am a warm, compassionate, and experienced Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I offer both short and long-term support to help you navigate life's challenges and discover a deeper sense of self and freedom.

Starting therapy is a significant step, and I appreciate that it can sometimes feel daunting. My commitment is to walk alongside you, ensuring a gentle and collaborative journey where we move at your pace.

Your Path to Healing

My approach is deeply relational. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a cornerstone of healing, and I value flexibility and collaboration above all else. I strive to meet you exactly where you are and tailor our work to your individual needs.

Being an Integrative therapist means I wholeheartedly embrace a personalised approach. I'm trained to thoughtfully draw from a wide range of theories and methods, including Psychodynamic, Humanistic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, to create a bespoke therapeutic experience that meets you where you are.

The Psychodynamic approach looks at how your past experiences, particularly those from childhood, might unconsciously be shaping your feelings and behaviour today. We explore these deeper roots to create lasting change.

Humanistic therapy focuses on your potential and inner resources, trusting your innate ability to grow. I provide the non-judgmental space you need to explore who you truly are and live more authentically.

CBT is a practical, goal-oriented approach that helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours in the present moment, offering concrete tools for managing difficulties like anxiety or stress.

What to Expect

I offer a confidential, warm, and non-judgmental space where you can feel truly heard and safe to begin a process of self-exploration and understanding.

Through our work together, we will aim to:

  • Gain greater awareness of old beliefs or patterns that may be holding you back.
  • Uncover potential blocks and build on your inherent inner resources.
  • Cultivate greater self-acceptance and authentic living.
  • Support you in making better-informed and more congruent life choices.

The goal is to help you experience greater inner freedom and control over the decisions in your life.

Specialised Somatic and Trauma-Informed Approaches

My practice is enriched by specialised training in trauma and the mind-body connection, allowing me to gently address issues that are held within the body.

Compassionate Inquiry (CI) Professional Online Training: I am a graduate of the Compassionate Inquiry Professional Online Training, developed by Dr. Gabor Maté and Sat Dharam Kaur. CI is a somatic and psychotherapeutic approach that gently uncovers and releases layers of childhood trauma, constriction, and suppressed emotion embedded in the body, which are often at the root of physical and mental distress.

Integrative Somatic Parts Work Level 3 (with Fran D Booth): I am trained in the integration of somatic (body-based) practices with 'parts' work (similar to Internal Family Systems), helping you to understand and harmonise the different aspects of yourself.

Embodiment Coaching Certificate (with Mark Walsh): This training further allows me to incorporate body-awareness and movement principles to help you feel more grounded, present, and authentic.
