About me

My aim is to provide a space that is confidential, a space to freely explore thoughts and feelings that can assist learning, healing, understanding and growth. My role is to join you on your own journey without judgement or prejudice.

It is vital in the therapeutic relationship that the therapist offers a non judgmental, safe and open space to explore intimate feelings, thoughts and beliefs. The Therapeutic Relationship I offer is based on trust and ease, to journey through life's difficulties with you in aid to overcome hardships and help you find the tools to aid a change of life for the better.

The therapeutic relationship encourages self- discovery, confidence, acceptance and helps light the way in the experience of freedom to be oneself.

The counselling I offer is integrative which means my work can be drawn from a number of modules such as a Person Centred Approach, a Psychodynamic perspective, Existential Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. This depends on the presenting issue and discovering the best way to work with individual clients and needs. Working integratively with individuals that have suffered and are suffering enables them to gain and take home the confidence and the experience of the relationship that assists them through some unmanageable times often giving vital support at critical times in their lives, that they may not have had the opportunity or the confidence to seek before.

Often time to talk is helpful in expressing feelings, being heard and gaining self-understanding.

I work from a very private practice in Smallfield, Horley, and appointments can be arranged to suit a convenient time with you. I can also offer telephone counselling and counselling online via Skype. Each session is for 50 minutes. Work can be a limited or open ended and this will be discussed in the initial meeting and guided by yourself.

I offer an initial session to discover if the work we can explore together can be helpful to you, the first telephone consultation is free. My work is based on trust and genuineness. It is crucial to find the right therapist for you so as the work and time that you have invested in can be built on and prove to be successful.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
