About me
How counselling can help
Counselling can give you a safe space to talk through what feels difficult, whether that’s anxiety, relationships, or feeling stuck. Working integratively and systemically, we can explore your experiences alongside the relationships and environments that shape them, helping you feel more understood and supported in making meaningful change.
What to expect in your first session
I understand that the first session can feel a little daunting. We will take things at your pace, starting with what feels most important for you to share. Together, we can begin to explore what has led you to counselling, and I will also explain how I work in an integrative and systemic way. There is no pressure to discuss anything you are not ready for.
How I work
I work in a calm and thoughtful way, meeting you where you are and going at your pace. Therapy with me is collaborative; we will take time to understand what is going on for you, without pressure or judgement. I will listen closely and may gently explore patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and relationships if it feels useful. Above all, I aim to offer a consistent and supportive space where you can feel heard and understood.
Training, qualifications & experience
My Qualifications
I am a qualified counsellor with a BA (Hons) in counselling and a postgraduate diploma in contemporary relationships. I am also a registered member of the BACP, working in line with its ethical framework.
My Experience
I have worked extensively with children, young people, and adults with ASD and ADHD, supporting a range of difficulties, including anxiety and school-related challenges. I also support adults with issues such as low mood, grief, and loss. Alongside this, I work with individuals, couples, families, and relationship dynamics.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
