About me
Do you struggle with a feeling of overwhelm that is affecting your day-to-day life and your ability to function? Do you feel exhausted, frustrated or lost? Do you put your needs to the bottom of the to-do list? Now more than ever it feels as though people are feeling anxious and uncertain; struggling to figure out how to manage their relationships, careers and their lives.
I am passionate about helping people to navigate difficult times by offering a space where you can feel comfortable to explore your feelings and emotions. I will walk alongside you as you search for answers and work out how you want to move forward. It might mean learning to set boundaries, working through a loss or life transition or helping you to change a pattern of behaviour that is keeping you stuck.
I start with understanding where you are now and the challenges you are facing. We will go at your pace and in the direction that you need. The sessions are client-led; I won’t tell you what you should do, but rather we will work together to find a better understanding of where you are and where you want to be.
I am a person-centred counsellor, therefore I understand that an effective and warm therapeutic relationship is central to helping you. You are offered a confidential and empathic space in which you can talk, reflect, and discover; with compassion and without judgement.
If you would like to explore whether counselling may work for you, please get in touch. We can arrange a free 20-minute phone call to give you the opportunity to ask any questions and get a feel for whether you would like to arrange your first session with me. I offer face-to-face sessions for adults 18+.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am trained as a person-centred counsellor. The person-centred approach understands that we all have a tendency to fulfil our potential but that sometimes this ability can be blocked by life events. Given the right environment, we can seek to improve our well-being and unblock the ability to grow and thrive. I seek to offer a warm and comforting environment in which you can explore the issues you wish to bring without judgement; helping you to understand how past experiences have impacted your present and develop steps towards positive change.
I am privileged to have experience of working with clients within the charity sector, with MIND in Mid Herts. As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I adhere to their ethical guidelines, ensuring that I work in a safe way.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
