About me

Hi, and a very warm welcome to my profile.

I am an experienced therapist working with adults of all ages working from my private practice in Roborough Plymouth where I meet clients face to face or, for those clients for whom it may be more convenient, or who may be located further afield, I offer online video meetings.

I know for many, approaching counselling may feel daunting and you may feel anxious. You may feel stuck or lost. You may have no idea what to say or where to start, and that’s OK.

Welcoming, and approachable, I provide a warm, safe, confidential, non-judgmental environment where there is no blame, and no shame. I also bring a varied and rich life experience to the therapeutic space - invaluable to my practice.

I help people find a way through matters that are impacting on their lives and relationships such as anxiety, suicidal thoughts, low self-worth, guilt, depression as well as many other emotional aspects and/or life experiences that make life difficult or even feel unbearable.

Talking with an experienced, caring professional, provides a real opportunity to explore those thoughts, behaviours, and repeating cycles that are making life difficult for you.

Critically, I want to understand your world as you see it, as you experience it, and your place within it. By working together, exploring thoughts, behaviours and experiences, counselling can help us understand ourselves and make some sense of what has shaped us and who we are today.

My work is to facilitate change so that clients can heal, grow and become empowered to lead happier more enriched lived.

BACP

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
