About me

Hi, I’m Mike, a qualified counsellor.

Is life feeling a little overwhelming, are you dealing with relationship difficulties, unhappy in your job, feeling lonely or just generally struggling with the demands of everyday life? Is this causing anxiety, low self-esteem, low self-confidence or even depression? If it is, I can help. I’m empathic, understanding and qualified in helping empower you to overcome these challenges and build the life we all deserve. As an experienced counsellor specialising in these areas, I have helped numerous clients achieve lasting results.

I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions, while offering practical tools and strategies to improve your mental well-being. My approach is client centred but goes beyond traditional talk therapy, integrating techniques from solution focused therapy, positive psychology, and elements of coaching to help you shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours.

Some of the benefits my clients report improvement in include:

Successfully removing alcohol from their lives

Reduced anxiety and stress
Alleviated symptoms of depression
Improved self-esteem and self-confidence
Enhanced communication skills
Greater resilience and coping abilities
Development of healthy habits and self-care practices
More fulfilment and greater levels of happiness

Don't let anxiety, low self-esteem, low self-confidence or depression hold you back any longer. Take the first step towards a more fulfilling life by contacting me today. Together, we can unlock your inner strength and create lasting, positive change.

I also help people who want to change their relationship with alcohol, and you can find more out about this on my Instagram page @the_alcoholfree_introvert

If you’d like to take the next step, the best way is to email me at itsyourjourneyyourway@gmail.com

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
