About me

I don't believe the issues we face in life always fit into neat boxes. I integrate psychology, counselling, coaching and consultancy in an attempt to work as flexibly and systemically as possible to meet the needs of each client. I do my best to see a client as a whole person and to welcome all aspects of them into the room.

There are so many ways we can differ:

Sensory processing; traumatic experiences;  culture; faith; values; skills and expertise; family dynamics; neurodivergence; gender expression; formative experiences and life goals - to name but a few.

All of these  can influence how we experience ourselves in the world, moment to moment. I work systemically with clients to explore their subjectivity and how they make sense of the world, with the overall aim to enrich their understanding of themselves, others and the world around them.

I work with young people (12+) and adults and have particular experience working with neurodivergent clients.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a chartered counselling psychologist trained in CBT, ACT, person-centered therapy and Developmental Behavioural Modelling.

Over the last 20 years I have worked in the NHS, in high schools and for third sector organisations. This has allowed me to work with a wonderful variety of people and to see the positive and negative impacts that organisations and the culture can have on people.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
