About me

Covid 19 & the Internet

Safest practice is still best delivered via online video platforms such as Skype, FaceTime, WhatsApp and Zoom.
Please include your choice of platform with your enquiry giving one week's notice as the service diary is extremely busy.

I am regulated by UKCP and registered with Professional Standards Authority. I work effectively and empathically with people to address challenging issues and improve the quality of their lives and relationships.I see adults (18+) individually and in couples and supervise experienced therapists.

My Counselling, Psychotherapy and supervision practice is located within dedicated premises in Frieth RG9 6NS 3 miles from Marlow in Bucks in a tranquil area of outstanding natural beauty.

I completed separate counselling, psychotherapy and supervisor trainings at the Metanoia Institute in London over the course of many years to achieve BA and MSc degrees in those disciplines. Metanoia is widely regarded as one of the most thorough trainings available. Following qualification I worked for a long time providing individual and group psychotherapy for the Dove Centre in Aylesbury until Bucks closed that centre, I then established a busy private practice in Marlow Bucks. I have been accredited with the UKCP for a number years, and follow a rigorous program of Continuing Professional Development.

I have a special interest in helping people with a range of anxiety issues, and a wide experience in helping people with:

  • anxiety / stress
  • abuse issues
  • addictions [including inappropriate internet use]
  • inappropriate and disordered eating
  • personality problems
  • depression
  • loss and bereavement
  • trauma work
  • Lack of meaning
  • I have a personal interest in prostate cancer support

Extensive further training in relational therapy has supported my Couples' work and now forms a significant part of my practice. Further, I remain committed to an ethical pricing structure in line with peer professionals within the UKCP.

Confidentiality and GDPR
Trust is the cornerstone of effective therapy. I treat confidentiality very seriously and will outline my legal obligations, responsibilities and commitments during our initial contact to ensure a full understanding around this issue. NB: a coded system is used with regard to essential notes used for record keeping; issues discussed in supervision prioritise client anonymity. When therapy ends, emails and phone numbers are removed from electronic media and records of attendance are kept for the statutory time prior to erasure. Client details can only be released following a formal process by the judiciary whereupon all relevant parties are first informed.
