About me
Hello, my name's Mike. I'm a qualified counsellor and therapist. I help and support people to explore and find solutions to their issues and problems. I'll provide a gentle, safe and understanding space to do this. I have over ten years of experience working with clients
How I work with people
My method is the integrative approach. This enables me to draw upon several therapy models when working with clients. These include person-centred therapy, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive therapy, existential therapy, and the three-phase model for working with trauma.
To help you work on your issues, I'll provide a therapeutic, confidential, non-judgemental, genuine, and empathic relationship. Being alongside you, I'll help you safely explore whatever it is that's worrying you, hurting you, or preventing you from moving forward.
I work with clients in a warm, relatable, and conversational way - to support your process as you work on whatever is concerning you - to help you find a way forward; to find answers; or a place of peace and acceptance.
Where would sessions be held?
I prefer to host sessions online using Zoom. But I can also offer face-to-face sessions for clients and can provide telephone counselling, too.
Relationship Therapy
I work with individuals, but I also provide relationship therapy that comprehensively covers heterosexual relationships, LGBTQ relationships, MSM, three-way relationships (throuples), polyamory and BDSM.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
My fee for online or telephone sessions is negotiable, according to what you feel you can afford to pay me for weekly or fortnightly sessions.
For face-to-face sessions in person, my fee would need to include the cost of hiring an appropriate therapy room (in the south London area) which I would book for us.
Your initial session (for client assessment and getting to know each other) will be free of charge.
Further information
I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I follow their guidelines for ethical practice.
As a counsellor and therapist, I also volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Care (the UK's leading grief counselling service) and MindOut - a Brighton based provider of LGBTQ+ therapy.
