About me
About Me
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may find yourself constantly worrying, feeling stuck in negative thought patterns, or struggling to cope with difficult experiences. Many of the people I work with describe feeling exhausted by their thoughts or emotions and unsure how to break the cycle.
Therapy offers a space to pause, reflect and begin to understand what is happening beneath the surface.
I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with over 12 years of experience working within NHS psychological services and private practice. During this time, I have supported people experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety, trauma, depression, stress and panic. Alongside my individual work, I am also Gottman trained and offer couples counselling and marriage counselling for those wanting a structured approach to communication problems, conflict cycles, trust issues and emotional disconnection in their relationship.
My approach is warm, supportive and collaborative. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can begin to explore what is going on for you at your own pace, while also starting to make sense of your experiences. Alongside this, we will work together to develop practical strategies and find a way forward that feels meaningful and manageable for you.
How CBT Can Help
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a well-researched and effective therapy that focuses on understanding the relationship between thoughts, emotions, behaviours and physical sensations.
Together, we will explore patterns and cycles that may be keeping difficulties going and begin to identify where these can be broken.
CBT is different from purely exploratory approaches. While it creates space to understand your experiences, it also focuses on learning practical tools, techniques and skills that can help you manage difficulties more effectively.
Many people find CBT helpful because it provides strategies that can be used both during therapy and long after it has ended, with the aim of helping you feel more in control and able to move forward.
Areas I Can Help With
I regularly work with people experiencing:
- Anxiety (including social anxiety, health anxiety, OCD, phobias and generalised anxiety with excessive worrying)

- Family issues, family conflict and its emotional impact, blended family relationship difficulties and co-parenting stress
- Relationship difficulties, including communication problems, recurring arguments, affairs and betrayals, rebuilding trust, and emotional disconnection
- Couples counselling, relationship counselling and premarital counselling

- Panic attacks
- Low mood and depression
- Excessive worry and overthinking
- Intrusive thoughts

What Therapy With Me Is Like
In our sessions we will work together to:
- Understand what has been contributing to your difficulties
- Identify patterns in thoughts, emotions and behaviours
- Explore cycles that may be keeping you feeling stuck
- Develop practical coping strategies
- Build confidence in managing challenges
The focus of therapy is not only to understand what is happening but to support you in making meaningful changes so you feel better equipped to move forward.
Alongside my individual CBT work, I also co-run Yorway, where we run separate courses on anxiety, worry and mindfulness - each with a free introductory session - as well as a free introduction to managing conflict and ongoing 1:1 support for relationship, family and workplace conflict or difficulties, led by our CMC-accredited mediator and conflict coach.
