About me

Hello, my name is Meriel and I am a qualified and accredited Art Therapist and Clinical Supervisor registered with BAAT (British Association of Art Therapists) and HCPC. I am able to see children over 8 and adults.

I have extensive experience supporting children in school settings, adults and students in training. My approach is culturally sensitive and designed to help with a range of challenges, including anxiety, low mood, bullying, peer and academic pressure, trauma, bereavement and loss, and neurodivergence. I am also keenly interested in the way that emotions affect physical wellbeing, often in the form of pain or chronic illness which may effect children and adults alike.

What brings you here today? Maybe I can help.

I provide a safe and confidential space to listen and explore your emotional landscape; I can offer short- or long-term therapy. Beyond traditional conversation, I offer a space where words aren't your only tool for healing. By blending talk therapy with creative practices, like painting, clay, or collage we can tap into insights that language alone often misses. You don't need to be an 'artist' to benefit; we simply use these mediums to help you regulate, process, and reconnect with difficult emotions in a safe environment. It is also alright if you choose not to use art materials.

Next steps

We can have a free 15 minute consultation on the phone so that I can understand a little more about what support you need.  After the consultation, you can decide if you would like to start therapy with me and we would have an initial assessment session before commencing the therapeutic work. Assessment sessions are charged at the standard rate. I have an art therapy space in Peckham and we would meet face to face.

If you would like to consult with me to find out more, please get in contact on the details below.
