About me

Hello! Firstly, I want to thank you for stopping by and taking time to look at my profile. I am sure that you are going through something really hard right now and please know that I am here to help. Please know that there is life beyond whatever you are struggling with, you can heal and find your joy again. Going to therapy can be a little scary and it’s okay if you're nervous and feeling a little worried about opening up to a stranger. Getting help is really brave and I am proud of you for being here. I pride myself on creating a warm and comforting environment for every client I work with, I will never judge you or shame you.

I believe that you are the expert on your life and my role is to be a warm and compassionate guide helping you to heal and find your way out of that dark place. The goal of therapy is not to be happy all the time (because that is unrealistic) but to heal and be incredibly present in your life for yourself, your kids, your family, and your friends. So that you are truly living and not just merely existing. EVERYONE deserves this.

I am the founder of Scotland first holistic counselling service for women (working worldwide). I specialize in women’s issues such as womb-based trauma. Which includes sexual assault/abuse, miscarriages, PCOS, infertility, endometriosis, PMS, PMDD, and traumatic birth experiences. I also do a lot of work around self-esteem, healing destructive dating patterns, finding direction in life, moving on after a relationship ends and breaking generational trauma patterns. I work with a lot of different issues so please reach out and we can determine if were a good fit for each other.

I am from America where I originally trained as a psychotherapist, now I happily reside in Scotland. When I am not doing counselling related things I am usually hill walking, eating takeaways or binging Netflix : )

* I want to add that it is normal for finding a therapist that you connect with to take time, I offer a free consultation with no obligations or strings attached. More of a casual chat over a cuppa.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been a qualified adult and child psychotherapist for eight years. I am a holistic counsellor meaning that I pull from multiple theories and I strongly believe in the mind-body connection and will often incorporate (only if you are comfortable) body-based healing modalities such as meditation, breathe work, and EFT/tapping. I have my bachelor’s degree in human behaviour, my master’s degree in counselling and I am a Level 2 EFT practitioner. I also have my level I certificate in Reality Therapy. I have been trained in play therapy, expressive arts, sand tray therapy, group therapy, motivational interviewing and stress management. I am also a period educator.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Individual Counselling delivered remotely

In therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behaviour. I will help you “re-frame” your reactions and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles. I will teach you how to develop self-compassion and help you process your traumas. At the first session we will determine your goals for individual counselling and work towards those goals in each session along with supplemental homework.

£40 per hour session for those aged 22 or younger

£216 six session block 10% discount when paid fully in advance

£50 per hour session for those 23 +

£270 six session block 10% discount when paid fully in advance

Email Counselling

Each week you can write up to 750 words and at an agreed upon scheduled time I will read through your email, process what you wrote and thoughtfully respond. Please note often times you will be given “therapeutic homework” to support your healing journey outside of our email exchanges. I will spend one hour crafting my response.

£45 per hour/response

Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping

EFT is a practical self-help method that involves using the fingers to gently tap on the body's acupuncture points along the meridian lines of Chinese medicine. It is often referred to as ‘EFT Tapping’ or simply as ‘Tapping’. The therapeutic effects of this technique are recognized around the world. EFT helps us tune in to the negative patterns that we form around our uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, or troubling memories. We ‘tap’ on the correct pressure points while bringing the thoughts or emotions into consciousness. The aim is to find relief, relaxation, and promote healing around the emotional or physical issues that hold us back.

A minimum of three 90-minute sessions is required with EFT and must be paid fully in advance. £240 for three sessions (90 minutes each)
