About me
Life can be tough. It can be challenging to cope with anything from day-to-day stress to a major life event.
Our relationship with ourselves has an impact on our relationships with others. When we lose track of who we are and what our place is in the world, it is a good time to talk to someone.
Therapy offers a confidential and non-judgemental space where you can be understood and validated: be able to increase your self-awareness and gain a fuller understanding of yourself by exploring your deeper thoughts and feelings.
Our way of being can become outdated and may no longer serve us well. Together, we can explore how you view yourself and how you relate to others. This often involves exploring familial relationships and dynamics, because they can offer a connection between our past and present. It can give you clues as to see how and why you have certain patterns of relating. Being aware of why we behave in a certain way can facilitate change, allowing us to update how we are in our current relationships.
At first, seeking counselling can be daunting. I believe that working in a client-led way at your own pace is important to help ease you into the process, which contributes towards a successful outcome.
I have worked as a homelessness recovery worker for 12 years. This is where I learnt that listening to others is a great way to empower people. Knowing that we have been heard creates a sense of self-value within us.
I have a passion for supporting others to reach their full potential and find out who they are.
I will support you in our work together so that you feel held, and safe to move through any challenges you experience.
I am a fully qualified, integrative counsellor, which means I find the best tools for our work by drawing on a number of theories and approaches. I will support you in our work together so that you feel held, and safe to move through any challenges you experience.
The therapeutic relationship is an ever evolving, co-created process that can facilitate healing. Creating a trusting relationship with you will, I believe, enable you to feel comfortable to open up. I understand that each client has different requirements – and these will inevitably evolve throughout our work together.
My aim is to offer a warm and relaxed environment where we can work collaboratively to explore your deeper thoughts and feelings so that you can live a more fulfilling and content life.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
