About me

Working with cultural, religious or sexual minorities has been central to my development as a counsellor and psychotherapist. 

I aim to create a supportive space providing counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment, enabling an exploration of personal issues.

I have worked with individuals on anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, sexuality, sexual abuse, harm reduction and bereavement. Skilled in working on building self-esteem and acceptance, I aim to empower individuals through creative and innovative mechanisms designed to work on improving well-being.

BSc (Hons), MA, PGCE, Diploma Counselling and Psychotherapy, Foundation in Group Analysis and Diploma in Group Supervision

Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

My theoretical approaches include Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Psychoanalytical, Intercultural/Transcultural,  and Existential Therapy.

I am a member of the Institute of Group Analysis and facilitate two groups as well as supervise trainee therapists.

I will always work within your frame of reference, engaging collaboratively at a pace that works for you.

I have worked  adolescents in community based settings and adults within the NHS and privately. I hold an advanced DBS certificate and have worked in the UK and internationally.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
