Working with cultural, religious or sexual minorities has been central to my development as a counsellor.
I aim to create a supportive space providing counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment, enabling an exploration of personal issues.
I have worked with individuals on anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, sexuality, sexual abuse, harm reduction and bereavement. Skilled in working on building self-esteem and acceptance, I aim to empower individuals through creative and innovative mechanisms designed to work on improving well-being.
Training, qualifications & experience
BSc (Hons), MA, PGCE, Diploma Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Qualified counsellor and am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. My theoretical approaches include Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Intercultural/Transcultural, CBT and Existential Therapy.
I am a member of the Institute of Group Analysis and facilitate two groups as well as supervise trainee therapists.
I will always work within your frame of reference, engaging collaboratively at a pace that works for you.
I have worked adolescents in community based settings and adults within the NHS and privately. I hold an advanced DBS certificate and have worked in the UK and internationally.
