About me

Hi, my name is Megan and I am a fully qualified Art Psychotherapist and counsellor. I am BAAT and HCPC registered with an MSc in Art Psychotherapy, as well as a BA (Hons) in Psychology and I am currently working in the city of Stirling.

I am a versatile, compassionate and hard working individual with 7+ years experience of working in both clinical and caring environments with all ages to help those living with mild to moderate mental health issues. Passionate about the influence in which art can have on healing emotional trauma. Experience in trauma, ASD, mental health disorders, grief, relationship & gender issues and many more.

My therapeutic services will provide a platform for you to explore your emotions in a judgement free environment. It will encourage you to think in ways that you may not have been able to before and the creative process will help to build your strengths and confidence.

Art therapy can be described as a form of psychotherapy which uses artistic expression to help to express yourself. Anyone can participate in art therapy and you do not need to be good at art to do so but it can only be delivered by a trained art therapist. The goal of Art Therapy is to utilize the creative process to help people explore self-expression, find new ways to gain personal insight and develop new coping skills. The creation and appreciation of art is used to help people explore emotions, develop self-awareness, manage stress, aid self-esteem and social skills

You do not need to face your problems alone. Together we can work through them with online or face to face therapy sessions. Contact me for more information.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
