About me

Experiencing anxiety? Feeling despair and hopelessness? Worries that you can't control, framed by eco-anxiety due to climate change, social media stress, the impact of the cost of living, caring for others, long-term health conditions or work stress? I'm here to help you through these feelings of despair and hopelessness as you journey towards finding connection.

I am a Person-Centred Counsellor. My approach is warm, and collaborative. I am non-judgemental and will not seek to analyse you. I will work alongside you to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing and find a way forward that feels right for you.

I offer online Counselling throughout the UK to fit into your life. I provide the empathy and acceptance needed to safely explore your experiences without judgment. We meet using Google Meet, ensuring privacy and encryption for the sessions. It requires no downloads or accounts, just a single click from your phone, laptop, or tablet. Online therapy removes the stress of travel, allowing you to focus entirely on your wellbeing from a space where you feel safe.

I also offer Walk and Talk Therapy, and Outdoor Therapy in locations across Charnwood, Leicestershire. Including but not limited to: Bradgate Country Park, Beacon Hill Country Park, Outwoods, Swithland Woods, and Dishley Pool.

Many people find working together outdoors to be less intense than sitting face-to-face, and it can make it easier to open up and talk. This way of working together can feel grounding, spacious, and supportive particularly if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected. Please contact me to discuss these options further.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor (Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling). A registered member of the BACP (MBACP). I also have a degree in Psychology BSc (hons). I am a member of the Association for Outdoor Therapy and a member of the Person-Centred Association, with a particular passion for the benefits of nature connection on mental health and wellbeing.

I have over 14 years experience in helping roles across the NHS and within the Voluntary and Community sector. This background has given me a strong understanding of how stress, responsibility, long-term health conditions and caring for others can impact your wellbeing.

I have worked with people experiencing anxiety, low mood, burnout, and the effects of long-term stress. I am aware of how difficult it can be to prioritise yourself when you are used to being the one others rely on.

I offer a warm, person-centred and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I have experience working with neurodivergent clients and aim to provide a neurodiversity-affirming approach, adapting my practice to each person's individual needs.

I am interested in supporting people experiencing loss, grief, and bereavement. Alongside my professional experience, I have my own lived experience of loss, which has deepened my understanding of the very personal and individual nature of grief. I recognise that there is no single way to grieve, and that loss can affect our emotions, relationships, identity and sense of the future in many different ways.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
