About me

Hi, I’m Matt, and I offer you a warm, calm, and affirming therapeutic space to work through what's troubling you. I can help you with issues including anxiety, depression, stress, being stuck, feeling lost or flat, feeling overwhelmed and overburdened, shame, guilt and being unable to let go. I can also help you with issues related to neurodivergence including ADHD and autism, or with making life changes or big life choices. I work with clients from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Providing you with a non-judgmental space to reflect, I’m here to help in a compassionate way. My therapeutic approach centres you, which means we can explore your experiences in an open-ended, collaborative way, or I can offer structured support tailored to your specific challenges.

You’re in full control of your journey, whether that means short-term or long-term work, or choosing when to end therapy.

I work in a neuro-affirming and gender-affirming way, drawing on my own lived experience as a non-binary and neurodivergent person. With neurotypes such as ADHD, autism and other neurodivergences, I know just how challenging life can be living in a society that wasn't made for us, though I also recognise we have strengths and skills that deserve to be recognised and understood.

I offer an optional free 30-minute phone consultation so you can ask questions, share what you’re hoping to get from therapy, and see if we might be a good fit to work together. We can also exchange emails rather than talk on the phone if that works better for you.

I see clients either online, or face to face from a counselling room on Wostenholm Road, S7. My availability is on Tuesday afternoon and evening (2pm-8pm, face to face or online).

Sessions are either 50 or 90 minutes long and I offer them either weekly or fortnightly.

To book a consultation, please get in touch via the ‘email me’ button at the top of the page, or text me on 07405 976 605. I'll get back to you with some times that I'll be free and then you can reply and choose one that works for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
