About me

I am a Certified Transactional Analysis psychotherapeutic counsellor. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am seeing clients with a wide range of emotional and mental health-related issues for counselling sessions. These include anxiety, depression, addiction, grief and loss, relationship, work issues, stress, and low self-esteem.

I worked in the music industry for over thirty years prior to becoming a psychotherapeutic counsellor. It’s given me a wide and varied range of life experiences which I feel enhance my abilities to work in the field of counselling and psychotherapy including:

●     good sensitivity to boundaries

●     a capacity to listen attentively over long periods of time

●     understanding the importance of patience and unconditional positive regard

●     the ability to listen empathically, without passing judgement

●     creating and maintaining positive working relationships

The demands of my occupation in the music industry affected my well being in many areas of my life, and I sought out therapy over fifteen years ago. The work I have done and continued to do with my therapist has shaped me, guided me, and facilitated my journey in such a positive way. It has led me to study psychotherapy and working with others, both in the music and entertainment industries and from all walks of life.

I offer a safe, comfortable environment in which we will work together. Over the course of our sessions, we will contract to explore what your goals and difficulties are, and what may be stopping you from reaching or overcoming them. We will explore how you feel, think and behave in regard to yourself, and others, and how making positive changes can benefit you. Your therapy will be specifically curated for you to reach a place of deeper understanding and facilitate your growth in a nurturing space.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP registered Transactional Analysis psychotherapeutic counsellor.

I have worked with people experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, addiction, work, lifestyle, relationship problems and many other issues.

I have experience working with people long-term, and also more short-term interventions of 6 - 12 weeks.

At this current time, my training and experience have primarily been in delivering face-to-face therapy. However, I am offering online therapy during the lockdown period. I am therefore glad to take on new clients who wish to work on Zoom or by telephone during the period of the lockdown, and who wish to move to face-to-face work in my Harley Street therapy rooms once the lockdown ends.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
